Barbara Burgess is a  songwriter.

Creating her own unique songs and melodies. 

Barbara only began writing songs at the age of 75 when the covid pandemic forced people in the U K into lockdown. 

Barbara wanted something to do when one was only allowed out for food shopping and one hour of exercise a day. Her husband, Richard came under the extremely vulnerable as he was being treated for prostate cancer and multiple myeloma. So Barbara had all shopping delivered and only walked her dog once a day to avoid coming into contact with the virus.

At her second and third attempts at songwriting she had 6 songs in the semi finals of the U K Songwriting Contest 2019 and 2021. 

In 2022 Barbara had 6 songs in the semi finals.

In 2023 Barbara entered fewer songs due to having other committments and 3 have reached the semi finals stage.
