The Four Elements:

Earth - Capricorn, Taurus, Virgo

Air - Libra, Aquarius, Gemini

Fire - Aries, Leo, Sagittarius

Water - Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces

A friend of mine is Aries and so is her ex husband.  When I first met her she told me they had been living together for seven years.  When I heard they were both Aries I thought the partnership would not last forever.  Two fiery signs together.  They both had coffee mugs with Aries written on the side.

Then my friend became pregnant and they got married.  When she was about eight months into her pregnancy her husband left her.  He said he did not want the child to grow up knowing him and then he disappear and so he decided to disappear now, before the baby was born!  My friend was devastated but she did manage to get a job working at home as an interpreter so that she could bring her son up on her own.

My husband is Sagittarius and I am Aries.  We get on very well together and have been married now for nearly forty nine years.  Whenever I meet someone I instantly like, I often find they are a Sagittarius.

If you look at the signs and their elements then you can see which signs are more likely to go with each other and why.

So a water sign - Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces,  could probably 'put out the fire' of a fire sign - Aires, Leo, Sagittarius.  Meaning they could deflate their ego, or put them off doing something they have always wanted to do.  Or even dampen their ardour in a love match.

An Aries person may say - 'come one let's go' and the water sign might say - 'hang on a minute' - and that way no-one gets anywhere.  The Aries person may feel as if their Water sign partner is stopping them from achieving that which they want to achieve.

On the other hand a water sign person may be able to calm an Aries person down and thus be a very good match.

Likewise an air sign - Libra, Aquarius, Gemini, could ignite the flames even more of the fire signs.  Thus make them even more passionate in a love match. Or fan the flames of a temper tantrum.  Or even help them with some project that they want to get off the ground.

With either of the two above examples - there are the plusses and the minuses in any relationship.

Water on Earth can make for a real soggy mess.  Maybe this couple would end up not going very far as they are always wondering what to do next or feel a bit as if they are 'stuck in the mud'.  Neither partner being able to help the other one or achieve what they want to achieve.

I would like to suggest that earth and air would go well together.  Although, if you think about it, air blowing earth around, creates dust and dust can get in your eyes.  By this I mean either one of these signs could be looking at the relationship through rose coloured glasses or dust covered spectacles.  All too often people go into a marriage or relationship thinking they can change the other person, either to their way of thinking, or change them into a better person.  'Rescue' them, for instance.

Earth and fire signs look like a good match.  After all you can make a fire on the earth and so long as there is only earth then the fire will not spread and cause damage to the surrounding vegetation.  I feel this couple would have a good foundation for a very solid relationship.

Air and water - once again the air sign could blow the water around and create huge waves and storms.  If you like a robust kind of relationship with passion and gusto then maybe, if you are an air sign you could team up with a water sign.

Two fire signs together, could make for a really rough ride!

Two air signs together could end up with no-one going nowhere - just being blown about by too much wind!

Two earth signs together - I would think this would be a very calming and relaxing relationship.  However, you can have too much of a good thing.

Two water signs living together - well it could get a bit wet and soggy.  There could be storms and each tossed about like a boat on choppy waters.  However, it could also be a very exciting journey.

So, if you are looking for a love match then look into their star sign and their element.  This could tell you a great deal about your future together.
